It's the third Indian IPL team that is in focus now. Royal Challengers Bangalore are at the starting block. It will take some time before they come to grips with unfamiliar conditions. Mumbai Indians didn't field well in the opener, allowing the game to drift after the 10th over when in the field. Sachin Tendulkar had the stands rooting for him and his team for most of the match. But sloppiness hurt them. They also conceded the most runs any IPL team in the Champions League.

Smarting for sure is Zaheer Khan. Brought in to bowl in the third over, the paceman went for 45 in his four overs. He clearly is rusty, but will get better in the coming days. There is no need for him to rush in too early.

Even though there are stalwarts in Rahul Dravid and Jacques Kallis, my entire focus will be on Indian youngsters in the next couple of weeks. As Team India looks to shore up its reserves, these boys have a chance to put up their hands.

Virat Kohli, Abhimanyu Mithun, Manish Pandey and Robin Uthappa — all must look to play out of their skins. They are on the cusp of great things. Backed up by the likes of Dale Steyn and Ross Taylor, Guyana, their opponents, might appear no-hopers.
