After three deaths, fogging finally started in malaria-affected villages in trans-Yamuna region on Friday. One automatic and two manual fogging machines were sent to Lotadh, Jari, Reha Barua, Bhispuri, Pipraun and Ghurmi to spray insecticide in the interiors of these villages.

The malaria department has also cancelled the leave of employees in view of malaria cases and flood-like situation in low-lying areas.
The department would remain open on Saturday and Sunday, informed additional chief medical officer (Vector Borne Disease) Dr RB Singh.
Dr Singh said the district malaria department has also prepared a fogging programme for the urban area.
"If the machine comes back today, we will start fogging in Chowk, Meerapur, Attarsuiya and other high mosquito prone areas," he said.
"The department will also remain open on Saturday and Sunday to monitor malaria patients and flood-affected areas of Allahabad," he added.
