DISTRICT MAGISTRATE/district election officer Amrit Abhijat has directed the returning officers of civic elections to issue notices to those candidates who are not following the model code of conduct as this could also lead to the cancellation of their candidature.

It is to be noted that the State Election Commission had sent letters to the DMs/district election officers to ensure that the model code of conduct was followed strictly.
In a meeting of the returning officers presided by the DM, ADM (administration) AK Rai said that sticking bills and posters on public properties was violation of the code of conduct. Besides, non-registration of weekly expenditure with the respective RO also amounted to violation of the election code.
“Candidates are not allowed to use loudspeakers attached to vehicles and use of loudspeakers has been totally prohibited from 10 pm to 8 am.
In case the candidate uses more than one vehicle for publicity through loudspeakers, then he or she will have to take approval and the details should be shown in the expenditures,” said Rai.
According to AK Rai, the two-day training of the polling officers would conclude on October 19. On Wednesday, almost 3000 officers were trained at Prayag Sangeet Samiti in three sessions. Meanwhile, on Thursday the training will take place in two sessions and 2000 officers will attend the training programme. The first session will start at 10 am and the second session will begin at 2 pm.

According to Ahmed, the Nagar Nigam list (ward number 22) showed that polling stations would be located at Bharat Scouts and Guides School, Mary Wanamaker School, Primary Education Junior High School, and Mary Lucas School.
However, another list of Allahabad Nagar Nigam was issued from the office of the deputy district election officer showing that the booths had been shifted to DP Girls Inter College and Nagar Palika Junior High School Machhali Bazar in place of Bharat Scout Guide School, Mary Lucas and Mary Wanamaker college.
