Summer is here and it’s time to overhaul your make-up kit. The hottest colours this season are yellow, indigo, blue and green for the eyes, and pink and peach for the lips.
Here’s how you can wear the right colour for your complexion and prevent a make-up debacle.
Extreme effect
“Yellow is hot right now for the nails and eyes, but keep in mind your skin tone,” advises make-up artist Vidya Tikari. According to Tikari, if you are dark-skinned, stick to warmer tones. Avoid cool shades as they will make you add grey to your complexion.
For a dramatic look
Make-up expert Samantha Kochhar suggests turquoise blue and lime green for the eyes and candy frost pink for the lips. “Peach for the eyes and anything between violets and purple will add colour to pale skin,” she says. If you are fair, avoid very dark shades for your eyes as it may give the impression of black eyes! Olive break

However, if you are acne-prone, or suffer from any other skin problem, then stick to warmer shades as they’ll camouflage the blemishes etc,” says Tikari. Kochhar suggests, “Lilac on the lips and eyes will add contour to medium skin tone. For a fresh appeal, try using light pastel cranberry pink.”
