The BJP, which managed a comfortable victory in two of the three corporations, is now trying to appease its rebel candidates to reach the majority mark in South Delhi Municipal Corporation as well.
The party needs nine seats to form a majority. Several of its rebel candidates have won from the area and senior party leaders said they are likely to come back to the party fold.
BJP sources said senior party leaders such as VK Malhotra and Subhash Arya, spoke to several rebels on Wednesday, asking them to come back.
The rebels include Seema Pandit from Palam, Praveen Rajput from Sagarpur, Kalpana Jha from Sangam Vihar and Krishan Sehrawat from Mahipalpur. Sources said the party is also in talks with JD(U) and INLD. JD(U) has won one seat and INLD won three in south Delhi.
The BJP has won 43 seats in the 104-member South Delhi Municipal Corporation and needs 53 members for a clear majority. The Congress got 30 seats while Independent and marginal parties have 31 members.
"I got a call from VK Malhotra, who asked me to rejoin the party. I have not yet decided on the matter," said Pramod Tanwar, who has won from Naraina.

{{/usCountry}}A senior BJP leader said rebels are mollified in every party. "Sometimes, people get angry with the party and vice-versa but depending on the situation, the stand has to change," he said.
