Ford India August sales up 89 pc

The automaker put its August domestic sales at 2,699 units compared to 1,428 units during the same period last year.

Ford India on Monday reported 89 per cent increase in its domestic sales at 2,699 units in August this year as against 1,428 units in the corresponding month last year.

Cumulative sales for the period of January-August 2006 stood at 29,470 units, up 93 per cent, a company release said.

"With the launch of the new Fusion and the Ford Fiesta diesel EXi, Ford is all set to extend its leadership in the Indian market," Ford India President and Managing Director Arvind Matthew said.
