A case has been lodged against former minister Vimal Krishna Agarwal and five revenue department officials for causing loss to the government exchequer, Senior Superintendent of Police D K Chaudhary said.

"The EOW last night filed an FIR against six persons including Agarwal, the then sub-divisional magistrate Mani Lal Yadav, tehsildar Indrasan Varma, revenue inspector Suresh Saxena, district assistant registrar Satish Agarwal," Chaudhary said.

He said that in 2005 during the SP regime, a government cold storage in Ujhani was purchased by Agarwal through auction. While the original cost of the cold storage on the basis of circle rate was Rs 3.11 crore, Agarwal, in connivance with revenue department officials, purchased it at a throw away price, the SSP said.
