Parvinder Singh slammed his second ton of the season and Tanmay Srivastava his first. As expected, India seamers Praveen Kumar and RP Singh produced tidy spells to share six wickets between them.

Maharashtra have enough to worry about. They lost their last match against Karnataka by an innings and 128 runs, and barring Ankit Bawne's fighting hundred, the batsmen looked clueless. Maharashtra have failed to command a first innings lead in their three matches.

Languishing at the bottom of the table with just one point, Khadiwale said: “Ours is a team of youngsters and they will learn with every game.”
