A former Congress councillor was injured in a mob attack at Agarpara in the northern suburbs on Wednesday.
Police said Raja Ahmed, local Congress leader and former councillor of Panihati Municipalty, was standing with others near a club on Hospital Road when unidentified miscreants hurled a mob at him injuring Ahmed on the hand.

Ahmed was taken to hospital for treatment.A police picket was posted at the spot.
