The doctors at the institute diagnosed him with lower respiratory tract infection, and his progress is being monitored closely, said a member of the team of doctors treating him.

The 84-year-old former prime minister’s condition is said to be stable by the team of doctors treating him and there was nothing to worry about.
“His progress is being monitored continuously by our doctors; the fever is gone and his infection is much better now,” said Dr D.K. Sharma, medical superintendent of the institute.

Several BJP leaders including L.K. Advani and Rajnath Singh have visited Vajpayee since his admission in the institute.
