Hilary Foster, 49, wants to see Maninder Pal Singh Kohli, 37, face a British court. He fled his home in the UK within days after Hannah's murder in Southampton in March 2003 and was caught in Bengal in 2004.

The Sun newspaper and Hants police put up a £65,000 reward there, after which he was caught. Hannah's parents had also gone to India to appeal for his arrest.

Kohli allegedly confessed on TV but later denied raping and strangling Hannah, 17. No date for extradition has been set even though he has been in court 67 times.

Soon after his arrest Hilary was diagnosed with breast cancer and has since had a breast operation, chemotherapy and radiotherapy last year. She is now well enough to go to India this month with husband Trevor, 55, to try to cut through the red tape.

Hilary of Southampton, said: "There is no way my cancer will get in the way of justice. Kohli says he is innocent. I want to see him come back and prove it."
