A special court has convicted four persons under anti-terror law TADA and sentenced them to life imprisonment.

Delivering the verdict in the 15-year-old case at neighbouring Rampur district in western UP, Additional District Sessions Judge PK Mishra also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on each of the convicts.

According to the prosecution, Guru Kirpal Singh, Amarjit Singh, Rachpal Singh and Rana Pratap were arrested in April 1991 along with one AK-47 rifle, one AK-57 rifle and several bombs at Guldia village in Rampur.
The prosecutor told the court that the accused had also indulged in terrorism-related activities before their arrest and supported the cause of Khalistan.
