Four persons were killed and another was seriously injured when their car plunged into the Jewargi Canal at Madbala Cross, about 60 km from Gulbarga, in the early hours on Friday, police said.

The victims hail from Venkatapura village in Medak district of Andhra Pradesh, they said.
The car driver, who has been injured, has been hospitalised.
