Four Naxals suspected to be behind the murder of a village head and five others in Chhattisgarh's Rajnandgaon district two months ago have been arrested, police said on Thursday.

A joint team of local police and special task force apprehended the extremists - Baishakhu, Prabhuram, Naru and Hajju - from Unchapur Teregaon area on Wednesday, Rajnandgaon police officials told PTI by phone.

The four were part of the squad that killed village head Veersai and five others, they said.
Petrol bombs and Naxal literature, among other things, were seized from the arrested Maoists, the officials said.
Police were searching for other members of the squad.
