FPA India celebrates IWD

THE REGIONAL Technical Centre of FPA India, celebrated International Women?s Day at its premises today by organising several activities. A message to empower women and girls in order to ensure their right to protection against violence and promote decision-making ability among them was emphasised on the occasion.

THE REGIONAL Technical Centre of FPA India, celebrated International Women’s Day at its premises today by organising several activities. A message to empower women and girls in order to ensure their right to protection against violence and promote decision-making ability among them was emphasised on the occasion.

According to a release, a health camp was conducted for 94 prisoners of the Central jail as part of the series of programmes being organised to mark the day. The female prisoners were also counseled about ways in which they could cope up with stress while in jail. Dr Pawan Mehta, Dr Jyoti Benawri and Dr Bindu Raj conducted the sessions along with their team members.

Meanwhile at the Jigyasa Youth Centre, 40 peer educators were sensitized towards issues like protection of women rights, eliminating violence against women and role of women in decision-making.

Experts from the police headquarters, Dr Veerendra Mishra, Archana Sahay, Jayashree Kumar, Mithlesh Sharma and Tushar Gohata participated in the discussion along with their team members.
