Free, fair inquiry demanded

CHAUDHARI MAHADEV Prasad (CMP) Degree College teachers conducted an emergency meeting on Saturday to discuss the decisions taken by the college management committee on Friday. The meeting presided by Dr Satyendra Nath, expressed reprehension over the management committee?s decision to suspend Dr SK Srivastava accused of molesting a female student of B Sc-II on March 17. The members called it an unfortunate decision taken without investigating the case.

The meeting presided by Dr Satyendra Nath, expressed reprehension over the management committee’s decision to suspend Dr SK Srivastava accused of molesting a female student of B Sc-II on March 17. The members called it an unfortunate decision taken without investigating the case. The members welcomed the Management Committee’s decision to form an inquiry committee to probe into the case.

The members demanded to conduct a free and fair enquiry of the case. The members said that some anti-social elements were trying to create differences among the teachers. The teachers urged the police administration to take appropriate measures to check the mishaps and undesirable elements in the college.

Meanwhile CMPDC student union vice-president Preeti Tripathi hailed the CMPDC Management Committee’s decision in a meeting on Saturday.

The meeting was conducted by CMPDC student union former president Sunil Dwivedi and convened by vice-president Preeti Tripathi.

According to a press release issued by Tripathi the members welcomed the CMPDC Management Committee’s decision of replacement of Principal Dr Kiran Shankar, and suspension of Dr SK Srivastava. The members assembled at the AU Vice-Chancellor’s office and handed a memorandum to the V-C and urged the V-C not to change the decision. Those present on the occasion were Raghunath Dwivedi, Lallan Tripathi, Suresh Tripathi, Vijay Dwivedi, Zia Kaunen Rizvi, Anand Singh, Sanjiv Rai and many others.

The student leaders supported by students shouted slogans against the CMP degree college management committee and demanded the V-C to restate the teachers on their respective positions. The students handed a memorandum in this regard to the V-C. Those present on the occasion included, AUSU general secretary Suresh Yadav, Rajesh Singh, Anurag Shukla, Dhanjay Singh and many others.
