For a healthy home, it’s imperative to have a free-flowing chi around your body. From an energy perspective, most problems are created by disturbance in the normal flow of chi. This could occur in areas where the chi in your body is stagnant, too fast-flowing or deficient. The reverse is also true: any physical aliment will result in a contracted flow of chi.

In general you will find it easier to maintain good health in a home that has exposure to natural light, including some sunlight, is made from natural materials, has lot of green plants inside, is aired daily, is in an area where there is clean unpolluted air, and is surrounded by natural vegetation and trees.

Prime areas for consideration are: your kitchen and larder; any place where there is water.

It is important that your kitchen contains healthy chi, as you will end up actually eating some of this energy. This could have a subtle influence on your health in the long term, since the process has a cumulative effect. Here are steps to create healthy chi in your kitchen and larder.

* If you have a choice of area then opt for east or south- east part for the kitchen.

* Avoid fabrics, soft furnishing and carpets, as they absorb dampness and smells.

BATHROOM

Avoid positioning the lavatory close to the door, since it becomes easier for the surging effect to influence your whole home.

* Avoid surfaces carpets, curtains, or thick rugs as they increase dampness.

* Avoid covering the window in a way that reduces the bathroom’s exposure to sunlight.

* Slatted blinds ensure that the bathroom benefits from natural light, while providing privacy.

* Avoid situations, such as an en-suit bathroom, where the bathroom does not have a door.
