The move is aimed at decongesting service lanes, which witness heavy vehicular movement especially in peak hours, Gurgaon administration said.
The state has also taken up the expansion of overcrowded crossings on the Gurgaon stretch of the expressway, which is about 18 km. The expressway between RTR Marg and 42nd Milestone is about 28 km and about 10 km falls in Delhi.
Gurgaon deputy commissioner Rajender Kataria said NHAI had accepted Haryana’s offer and the highways authority would bear the cost of construction of two extra lanes.
