JAIPRAKASH ASSOCATES Limited- Cement Division— has set up a stall for free distribution of tea and fruits among devotees during Navratra at Vindhyachal. The stall was inaugurated by district magistrate of Mirzapur, Umesh Kumar Mittal.

On the occasion, company’s sr vice president (commercial) DV Pendharker said that Jaypee Group had diversified interests in civil construction, private hydro-power projects, IT, hotel industry, education and cement industry. The group, with a combined turnover of Rs 3500 crore, had established itself as a conglomerate committed to quality, customer satisfaction, social responsibility and environmental issues.
Elaborating on the social commitments of the group, Pendharker said the group’s founder and CMD Jaiprakash Gaur had always on emphasised ‘Growth based on Human Values’. Jaiprakash Seva Sansthan- ‘a not for profit organisation’- had been formed with the sole purpose of contributing to the society.
Thirteen villages in the vicinity of its plants at Rewa, MP, were adopted by the group, where various programmes like adult education, education of girl child, veterinary camps for cattle, self-employment, etc. were being run free of cost.
Several schools with nominal fees for the children of under-privileged were being run by the organisation where midday meal was also provided.

{{/usCountry}}On the occasion deputy general manager (M), VK Sachan said that the group had adopted Kakadva village of Bhuj district, ravaged by earthquake in January 2001.
Through Jaiprakash Seva Sansthan, in a record time of six months the whole village was reconstructed beyond recognition at an estimated cost of Rs 10 crore.
