The police arrested a Jaipur resident for allegedly molesting a French woman inside a hotel in Pushkar on December 18.
The woman was staying with her husband in the hotel.
The accused Lokesh Sharma was booked under sections 354 and 151 (molestation and disturbing peace) and produced before the magistrate.
He was later released on the bail.
Rameshwar Bhati, station house officer, Pushkar, said the incident occurred around 10.30 pm on December 18 when Sharma, who was drunk, was returning to his room.
“He saw Neema Fatima, the French tourist, descending the stairs and molested her,” he said.
According to the police, the accused had checked into the hotel the same day, while the French couple was staying there from December 17.
The police said that the accused admitted that he was drunk. He also accepted that he intentionally touched the French woman’s hand. But this seems to be a statement in defence, the police said.
