Was student’s result manipulated, court seeks to know
The anomalies in the report card of a Class XI student has attracted the attention of the Delhi High Court. The court has asked for a fresh inquiry into the alleged manipulation of the result of Vishal Singh Rathore, a student of Little Flowers Public Senior Secondary School in Shivaji Park, Shahdara.
Justice R C Jain, while ordering the fresh inquiry, asked officials of the Crime Branch to fix responsibility and submit a report within six weeks. Vishal was declared as 'failed' by the school in 2004. However, his father, M P Singh Rathore, an advocate, challenged the result and complained to the police and the education department that Vishal had been declared failed deliberately, and with an ulterior motive.
He alleged that initially, the school gave a report stating that Vishal had passed the exam in 'compartment.' However, it was claimed that when the parents approached the school authorities, the latter insisted on being paid Rs 25,000 for declaring Vishal as 'passed.'
On his refusal, RathoreRathore alleged that the school officials tampered with the report card and declared VishalVishal as 'failed.' He subsequently approached the education department and local police officials seeking action against the school management.
But finding no response, he filed a complaint with the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, who directed the Shahdara police to register a case and conduct investigations.
