We were treated to a fun piece of theatre, but cut the trimmings and we were left with a solid collection of wearable (yes, really), but fresh clothes that gave us interesting silhouettes.

We were treated to a fun piece of theatre, but cut the trimmings and we were left with a solid collection of wearable (yes, really. Look closely), but fresh clothes that gave us interesting silhouettes, great colours and sensuous textures.

There was a heavy Oriental influence, much heavier than we have seen so far; less subtle, but well handled so that there was no feeling of costume. The feel came from the prints, colours, embroideries and fabrics not the silhouettes, despite the prevalence of Obis. But Bollywood was in there alive and kickin' in the guise of filmy iconography.

The silhouettes were eclectic, and refreshingly well assembled. A variation of puffballs re-emerged, but in such softly draped fabrics that made that best forgotten 80s nightmare finally wearable. Another 80s nightmare, leggings, actually looked fashionable, styled the Fried Fish way. Track pant variations appeared slashed from ankle to thigh in a sexy retake. Trouser shapes were straight, sometimes gathered or elasticated at the ankle. Skirts were all lengths, bum skimming, mid-thigh pleated or tight minis layered over gathered nets to the ankles.
