Unique presentation of fusion of two traditional dance forms of Kathak and Bharat Natyam mesmerized the audience at 'Sangeet Sandhya' held at NCZCC in memory of great musician Subbu Lakshmi on Monday late evening.

The event was jointly organised by Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Natak Akademi and Cultural Department, Uttar Pradesh.
The audience was spell-bound to watch the innovative attempt of presenting the two traditional dances belonging to North India and South India together on the stage.
Team of two choreographers, Nishi Rastogi and Archana Tiwari and two dancers from Lucknow presented the fusion dances.
The event started with the bhajans presented by Vidyadhar Prasad Mishra, a known singer from the city. His bhajans carried the ragas from South. His melodious voice enthralled the audience as he sang in praise of god.
The most awaited item was the endeavour of the young artistes.
It was a treat for the dance patrons and local artistes to watch five traditional dance items. The first two items of dance were purely traditional.
Pushpanjali was presented in Bharat Natyam dance form by Nishi Rastogi and Anil Kumar Diwan whereas Archana Tiwari and Ishani Agrawal performed Shiv Stuti in Kathak dance form.

Then came the most awaited fusion which was named as 'Anand Sangam' and it was presented by all the four performers who matched their footsteps in unison.
This fusion of classical dances was the most lauded event.
Music direction was given by Ravi Nair. He was accompanied by Pramod on tabla, Naveen on sitar and Sudhir on mridang. The event was conducted by Tarun Raj.
