Galib joins SAD, nominated for Lok Sabha poll
Gurcharn Singh Galib, former senior Vice President of Punjab State Congress joined the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal after leaving the Congress and is now the SAD's Ludhiana Lok Sabha seat nominee.

Gurcharn Singh Galib, senior Vice President of Punjab State Congress who resigned from the party on Sunday, joined the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Monday and was rewarded with nomination for the Ludhiana Lok Sabha seat.
This announcement was made by Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal at a public rally in Ludhiana on Monday.
Galib had represented Congress in the Lok Sabha twice.
Prem Mittal, leader of the opposition (Congress) in Ludhiana Municipal Corporation, also resigned from the Congress and joined SAD.
