The Indian Army may have taken more than a day to rescue a six-year-old trapped in a pit in Haryana, but Lord Ganesha took just a few seconds to 'rescue' the boy at a tableau in Gujarat.
Depiction of real-life events on gigantic tableau during Ganesha Chaturthi festival has become common in western India.
While the elephant god recreated the magic of Harry Potter and blessed him last year, this time he saved Prince - whose rescue operation the nation watched live a little over a month ago.
"An electrical device lifts the idol of Lord Ganesha from a small well constructed on the tableau and the god returns with Prince," Vijay Patel, president of the Ganesha Pandal Samiti in Manjalpur, 110 km from Ahmedabad said.
"We discussed which theme we should project this year and then decided to showcase the Prince incident," he added.
The children find the show very amusing and the rescue act by god is greeted with cheer.
