The scheme is expected to extend to Kavinagar and Shipra-Suncity post offices if it works out.

The project, a tie-up between a private company and Garwhal Vikas Mandal, has been initiated keeping in mind the religious sentiments of the people. The packing will be done at Gomukh at Gangotri.

In the first phase, 100 ml and 800 ml bottles have been dispatched. The packs are priced at Rs 11 and Rs 30, respectively.

The postal department will get a commission of 25 per cent from the sales.

The bottles will be sold at Noida also, postal department officials said.
