Despite a round of 74, Rahil Gangjee managed to move up one place to be placed tied-16th at the end of the third round of the ICTSI Philippine Open here on Saturday. Gangjee was now three-over for 54 holes. Anirban Lahiri (73), Digvijay Singh (76) and Sujjan Singh (80) too struggled.

Mumbai Fighters get walkover

Mumbai: Mumbai Fighters gained a quarterfinal berth in the World Series Boxing after getting a walkover from Los Angeles Matadors in their last Group A league fight. The fight was scheduled on Monday in the US but was cancelled due to a re-structure of the home team's management.

8,000 expected at Indian Open marathon

New Delhi: Harish Sharma, the CEO of the Basketball Federation of India (BFI), passed away on Friday. He was 53 years old. Born on December 28, 1958, Sharma was also a former basketball player and represented the national team in the 70s.

Bagan second after win

Kolkata: Mohun Bagan rode Okolie Odafa's brace (73rd and 81st min) to defeat Mumbai FC 2-1 in their I-League match and climb to the second spot of the I-League on Saturday. Gbeneme Friday scored for Mumbai FC in the 24th minute. In another match in Shillong, East Bengal lost 1-2 to Shillong Lajong FC.
