Taking a serious note of the gang war at PWD office here, SSP Raja Srivastav has suspended a sub inspector along with four constables deployed at PWD office for neglect of their duties. Meanwhile, the injured Repunjay Rai succumbed to their injuries late night while he was on his way to Lucknow.
Those suspended on Wednesday include sub-inspector Triveni Lal Singh, head constable Lokhna Ram, constable Krishna Bihari Prasad and Mahavir Mishra.
It is noteworthy that exchange of firing between the two gangs in bid to get a tender for construction of road worth Rs 3 crore had rocked the city on Tuesday.
Satendra Kumar Singh died on the spot while other person Repunjay Rai sustained severe injuries and later died.
Sources said that PWD officials had expressed their apprehension before the police officials regarding the confrontation between the gangs to get the tender but police officials did not taken it seriously.
