The four NGOs who have taken this decision are Bhopal Gas Peedit Mahila Stationary Karmachari Sangh, Bhopal Gas Peedit Mahila Purush Sangharsh Morcha, Bhopal Group for Information & Action and Bhopal Ki Awaaz.

Addressing a press conference, Satinath Sarangi and Rachna Dheengra said they held the State Government directly responsible for the continuing misery of gas victims and recounted its utter failure in providing proper medical care, safe drinking water, employment and social support to victims.

They also charged the State Government of misappropriating the funds provided by the Centre for relief and rehabilitation of gas victims.

As part of the protest demonstrations against Union Carbide and its present owner Dow Chemicals on the occasion of 22nd anniversary of gas victims on December 3, they said the four NGOs would hold a torch rally in front of Union Carbide factory on the eve of gas disaster anniversary on December 2.
