Talking to Hindustan Times, she blamed Gaurav’s family members and his employer Wipro for her present predicament.

Talking about her marriage, Tripti said Gaurav’s family was known to be ‘greedy’ and slowly she began to realize it. “In fact, when the marriage was being finalized, Gaurav’s parents had told my family to settle the dowry issue before their son arrived,” she added.

Tripti said she got married on December 1, 2002 and spend the initial days with her in-laws in Lucknow. Soon they started to press for more dowries. It began with the demand for Rs 5 lakh and a car, she alleged.

Tripti looked emotional as she spoke of the day when she and her kid Pulkit were driven out of Gaurav’s house. Tripti alleged that since then she had not been provided any financial support from Gaurav barring a cheque of Rs 2500.

On Wipro’s ‘dating allowance’ Tripti said, she was aware about it but came to know through a magazine that it was given to “help employees enjoy illicit relationships”.

Tripti said she spoke to Wipro human resource manager Sunita Cherian on several occasions to enquire about her husband, but she was only informed about Gaurav’s whereabouts.

Tripti’s advocate Nandlal Jaiswal said Gaurav was absconding. He said though Wipro has denied giving dating allowance to its staff, Jaiswal said there was enough evidence to prove Tripti’s claim.

Now, as the fate of Gaurav, his father Vedprakash, mother Shobha, sisters Ila and Ibha, and brothers-in-laws Pankaj and Anoop rests with the court, Tripti is confident that victory will be hers.
