The GCC said it will support seven candidates, including four women, contesting from New Gurgaon wards that comprise posh colonies like DLF City, Sushant Lok, South City and Huda sectors.

The women candidates in the list are Yogita Jaildar (ward 29), Alka Dalal (ward 30), Rita Bhatia (ward 33) and Rama Rani Rathee (ward 34). The GCC has also decided to support three men — Ashok Kumar (ward 31), Mahesh Dayma (ward 32), and Liluram (ward 35).

"The reason for the delayed announcement is simple as it took us time to zero down to the deserving candidates. We will only support genuine candidates with a good educational and professional background," GCC secretary TN Kaul said.

"We encourage residents to vote for our seven candidates and take GCC to a new level where we can work in a better way to solve our issues,"GCC president RS Rathee said.

Meanwhile, the INLD has sent eight names of potential candidates for ward 11 and 17 to the state party chief who will finalise one name for each ward.
