“The meeting will be held as per schedule at 4 pm. Whether or not any business is carried out will depend on the members,” IMC secretary J C Galar said.

Speaker Shankar Lalwani, however, admitted that the meeting might not go the full course. “We are thinking of adjourning the general council after offering condolences to Shukla.

If the House agrees then the meeting will be held within two-three days,” he added. A total of 21 items were listed on the agenda during Thursday’s meet. Chief among these were restarting of the stalled Nanda Nagar infrastructure development project, restoration of the old parking system from April 1, creation of new posts for overseeing environmental improvement and civic infrastructure works funded by the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
