German woman beheaded, one held

Police said the German archeologist was killed by a Sheikh who wanted to take control of her property in Pune.

A real estate agent has been arrested in connection with the murder of a 72-year-old German woman in Pune.

Police said the German archeologist Dr Gudarun Korvinos was killed by a Sheikh who wanted to take control of her property.

The beheaded body has been sent for post-mortem.

Dr Korvinos met the Sheikh to sell off her flats in Pune, but when she refused to sign on blank papers he stabbed her, police said.

She was last seen in Pune on December 30, and the flat had remained locked since then.
