Inspect your kitchen to count the number of food items you say ‘no’ to — because you are told they are not good for your health. Here are some facts stated, and myths busted about various veggies and fruits:
Myth: Eating papaya during pregnancy causes abortion.
Fact: Papaya is a fruit rich in nutrients like Vitamin A and Vitamin C and is a good laxative also. Hence, it can be taken in pregnancy.

Myth: Consuming milk or anything white like, curd etc causes pus in a wound
Fact: Milk is a good source of protein and is beneficial for wound healing. So, on the contrary, post-surgery one should be taking good quantity of milk to enhance healing of wounds.

Myth: Avoid curd in dinner
Fact: Curd has good bacteria, which is helpful in digestion. Hence, if taken with meals, it aids digestion.

Myth: Avoid citrus fruits when suffering from cold.
Fact: Citrus fruits are rich in Vitamin C that builds immunity and is recommended during cold.

Myth: Mango is a healthy summer fruit and can be eaten in plenty.
Fact: Being high in carbohydrates and sugar, excess consumption can cause weight gain and even hormonal imbalance.

Myth: Bananas and apples are rich in iron because they turn brown.
Fact: Browning has nothing to do with iron rather it is an enzymatic reaction.

Myth: Lemon water and citrus fruits cause acidity
Fact: Cause for acidity is abnormal eating pattern and cannot be attributed to citrus fruits and lemon.
