Of late, we have been rightfully inundated with flashy images of the new Ford Mondeo set for a launch in the second quarter of 2007. While its estate version made a debut at this year’s Paris Auto Show, the saloon model of the same has been kept under wraps till now. And boy, the company has already sold nearly four million Mondeos in Europe alone.

Not just that, till date the Ford Mondeo remains a favoured choice in the family saloon segment there. The world first got its glimpse in the latest James Bond flick, Casino Royale.

Though the specifications of the new car have not been announced, Ford has stated that it will meet customer’s demands in terms of making the new model more powerful, spacious and comfortable while retaining affordability.

The European design team has finally been able to put its ‘kinetic design theme’ into form. While the Mondeo range has always been something the guys at the Blue Oval have been tremendously proud of, it has, sadly, not done too well in India.

While the company representatives admit that the Mondeo sells in limited numbers and that expensive parts might be a turn off for many, the Mondeo has to live up to its international reputation of being the favourable choice of wheels.
