The GGP today submitted a complaint letter to the Chief Election Commissioner and urged him to take immediate action in the matter. The GGP letter mentions the Chief Minister conducted public meetings well beyond the stipulated time with the use of loudspeakers on April 14 at Dumawar in the Budhni Assembly constituency.

The GGP said the local administration also did not report this to the Election Commission, which proves clear misuse of the official machinery. The letter further mentions the Chief Minister’s wife Sadhna Singh was conducting public contact tours in the constituency and all arrangements for this was being made by the CM’s office and his media team was also publicising these tours.

The GGP said the fact that the media department of the CM’s office releases news regarding his wife’s election contact tours, was a clear violation of code of conduct. The party also charged the Chief Minister had already surpassed the stipulated election expenditure of Rs six lakhs and thus he should be removed from the process.
