Aamir Khan-starrer Ghajini has stirred up another row and a fresh round of litigation in the Bombay High Court over its certification.
Earlier, the film was taken to court over copyright infringement allegations.
Professor Pratiba Naitthani (38) of St Xavier’s College has filed a plea against the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and the Central government over the U/A certification to the film, despite there being a lot of violence.
The matter comes up for hearing before a division bench next week.
Claiming that she was shocked to see the violence in the film, Naitthani’s petition claims, adding that with a ‘U/A’ certification, even children between 3 and 15 years were allowed to watch the film in theatres.
Seeking that an ‘A’ certification be issued, the petition claims the certification is issued without thinking of consequences such gruesome violence (can have) on minds of children.
