Speaking to HT, GDA vice-chairman Narendra Chaudhary said the increase has come after a gap of four years.
"We had intended to use the additional revenue to fund the second phase of Metro rail extension in the city. But we have proposed a joint funding by different departments as an alternative to fund the Metro project," Chaudhary said.
The increase is expected to generate an additional revenue of R40-R45 crore per year for the authority.
