Gill of Team MRF, hit a piece of concrete and broke his left suspension and did not take further part in the day's proceedings, with one stage to go.

Gill was running second behind Proton's Chris Atkinson at that stage and was obviously disappointed in losing out on crucial championship points.

Both Gill and teammate Katsuhiko Taguchi had begun the day on the back-foot. Team MRF is now banking on Taguchi for a podium finish on Sunday.
