The protesters left the place only after the authorities agreed to conduct an inquiry against school teacher Sunil Yadav.

The girl, a Class 11 student of Government Higher Secondary School in Dhankot, had committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her house.
The victim’s father Mukesh Kumar alleged that Sunil Yadav had intentionally failed his daughter in the examination. She had passed her Class 10 examinations with flying colours, Kumar said.

During the protest, the villagers also accused Yadav of misbehaving with the students and demanded his immediate removal from the school. “After declaring the results, Yadav instigated her to commit suicide,” said Kumar. However, the school authorities have denied the allegations, saying that they never received any such complaint.
