UPSET over her marks obtained in the UP Board High School exams, a girl student made an abortive attempt to commit suicide by jumping from a bridge into river on Saturday.

Priya, daughter of Rajkumar, resident of Badapur vilage under the Rohania Police station missed first division with the margin of 4 marks. Priya made an abortive attempt to commit suicide by jumping into the rive Ganga from Vishwa Sundari bridge.

Hearing the sound, members of the sailor community saved Priya from the river Ganga. Later, her family members brought her back to home after giving primary treatment at a hospital.

The result of UP board examination was declared recently in which she passed, but failed to secure first division with the difference of 4 marks.

She had become upset and On Saturday, she went out from her house to get medicine for her sick brother. She came on the bridge and jumped into Ganga to commit suicide, but the members of the sailor community, who were returning after fishing in Gang, heard the sound and saved her. In another incident, a 40-year-old woman Shakuntal made an abortive attempt to commit suicide on Saturday. She was upset due to apathetic attitude of her mother-in-law and her husband. She made an abortive attempt to jump in the river Ganga from Malviya bridge, but fortunately she fell on the railway track passing under the bridge. Meanwhile, locals and GRP personnel rushed the injured Shakuntla to the Shiv Prasad Gupta Divisional Hospital.
