GM to introduce 19 new engines

The powertrain line-up for its model year 2007 cars range from hybrids and small-block truck engines to those that use ethanol.

General Motors Corp, the world's largest auto maker, said on Thursday it plans to introduce 19 new engines and powertrains that improve fuel economy and reduce emissions.

The powertrain line-up for its model year 2007 cars range from hybrids and small-block truck engines to those that use ethanol, the company said.

The Detroit company said on Wednesday it planned to restructure its corporate controller's office and hire a financial advisory firm, sending its shares down 4 per cent to $24.
