GMR-Hyderabad Inter-national Airport Ltd and MAS Aerospace Engineering, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Malaysia Airlines, on Friday signed a memorandum of understanding for setting up an equal partnership joint venture for maintenance, repair and overhaul facility in Hyderabad.

The facility will be functional in 2010 and will have a capacity for carrying out overhaul of 60 to 80 aircraft per year.
“There are already 350 aircraft in operation in India. We expect the market size to double every two years and we are hopeful of capturing a major share of this market,” said GM Rao, chairman, GMR group.
