Sanjay Parab surrendered to the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Court at Mapusa, about 10 km from Panaji, Deputy Superintendent of Police or DSP (Crime Branch) Chandrakant Salgaonkar said.

The 30-year-old will be arrested once he is handed over to Crime Branch by the court, the DSP said.

Parab was amongst seven policemen booked by Crime Branch for alleged links with Israeli drug peddlers Yaniv Benaim alias Atala and David Driham alias Dudu.

Crime Branch has arrested six of them - Inspector Ashish Shirodkar, Sub-Inspector Punaji Gawas, a head constable and three constables.

Parab was on the run since the first week of March when a case was filed against him under the Prevention of Corruption Act and NDPS Act. Crime Branch issued a lookout notice against Parab when he failed to respond to its summons.

The nexus was exposed after Atala confessed on video tape about his links with the Police.
