Police sources confirmed that the minister had agreed to hand over his 21-year-old son to the police.

German mother had accused Rohit along with Public Works Department Minister Churchill Alemao's nephew Warren of raping her 14-year-old daughter.

Police had initially launched a massive search for Rohit in the second week of October backed out after the girl refused to depose or get herself medically examined.

However, the case attained momentum only after the girl on November one, deposed before Judicial Magistrate first class and also allowed medical examination be conducted on her on the next day.

The examination was positive confirming rape on the minor.

Police had recorded Rohit's statement on November one, just before the girl could depose before the magistrate.
Although none of the officials confirmed whom the girl has named in her deposition, the police suddenly began searching Rohit since this morning.

"The police had come here. I told them that Rohit would be handed over to them soon," Monserratte told PTI.
He, however, refused to divulge how soon he will hand over the son for investigations.
