Special public prosecutor Sudhir Bhrambhatt told mediapersons outside the court that Judge PR Patel, while hearing the case, asked the accused if they wanted government to appoint a lawyer for them.

Over 90 accused are in jail for the last seven years after they were arrested for allegedly torching S-6 coach of Sabarmati Express causing death of 59 persons, mostly 'Karsevaks' returning from Ayodhya, on February 27, 2002.

Bhrambhatt said three bail applications were also moved by the accused but the court deferred their hearing till June 4.
