Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Thursday expressed deep shock over the untimely death of Andhra Pradesh Chief Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy in a helicopter crash.
"His untimely demise is not only a great loss to Andhra Pradesh but to the whole nation. During his tenure as chief minister, he initiated a slew of developmental works and schemes aimed at ameliorating the socio-economic condition of the poor, farmers and downtrodden of the society," Gogoi said in a statement in Guwahati.

Gogoi expressed his heartfelt condolences to Reddy's family members and also to those of the four others who died in the crash.
