When house owner Sharad, son of Kishanlal Malhotra, and his wife Sunita woke up and shouted for help, the thieves beat them up.

Fortunately, Sharad’s mother, who was outside the house, raised an alarm following which the thieves ran away. According to information, three thieves entered the house by opening a window grill. Sunita woke up while one of them tried removing a necklace she was wearing.

However, when Sharad and his wife shouted for help the accused beat them with a stick. They also threatened Sunita of dire consequences.

While the accused were inside the house, Sharad’s mother Sudarshan Kaur who lives across the street with her younger son, came to pick flowers from Sharad’s garden.

Noticing that the front door was open, she realised that something was wrong and shouted for help. To avoid being caught, the accused beat a hasty retreat.

They believe that it might belong to the thieves who left it behind while escaping in a hurry. The accused had first tried to enter the house of Malhotra’s neighbour. They had opened the screws of grill but when they found the window shut they decided to rob Malhotra’s house by jumping over the common boundary wall. Police raided a number of nearby places and also dispatched teams to Dhar and Jhabua in this regard.
