Employees from Billawar, Bani, Basohli and Hiranagar were present at the protest.

They blocked the Kathua-Kalibari road and raised slogans against the erring advocate.

Employees unions demanded that the state government and the district administration take serious action in the matter and put an end to the abuse of officials.

Work remained suspended in the offices of many departments due to the protest.

Senior district officers submitted a memorandum to the deputy commissioner on Tuesday morning, intimating him about the indefinite strike to be observed by all employees.
Meetings held with associations of employees failed to yield any results as protestors wanted immediate action.

However, on Tuesday afternoon, employees suspended the strike after Kathua DC Shahid Iqbal Choudhary assured that a committee would be constituted to probe the issue.
