Govt issues guidelines to help accident victims

To ensure immediate medical aid to the victims of vehicular and other accidents, the Haryana government has issued a set of guidelines.The guidelines will ensure that timely medical help is provided to road accident victims and people who help in transporting the victims are not subjected to inconvenience under the garb of investigation.

To ensure immediate medical aid to the victims of vehicular and other accidents, the Haryana government has issued a set of guidelines.The guidelines will ensure that timely medical help is provided to road accident victims and people who help in transporting the victims are not subjected to inconvenience under the garb of investigation.

In a communication, the home department has directed the director general of police, all deputy commissioners, subdivisional officers (civil), commissioners of police and superintendents of police to ensure that the victims of road accidents and other mishaps are immediately transported to nearest hospitals for medical aid without insisting on the unnecessary formalities.

Police personnel present on the spot of accident or on reaching the spot would be responsible for immediate transportation of the victims without causing any delay on the account of unnecessary formalities.

Similarly, people present on the spot should help in the transportation of victims to the nearest hospitals without hesitation, the instruction said. Police personnel will not subject the persons helping the victims to unnecessary inquiries.
